Preparing the Kids and Home for the Nanny during Covid 19

Covid-19 has already cause enough stress, lets prepare the kids and home for the Nanny, so that wont be another.

Get to know the Nanny

The ideal way to pave the way between your child(ren) and the new nanny is to break the ice amongst the two of you ahead of time. It’s recommended to develop a relationship with the individual that’ll be caring for your little one. Creating a personal rapport with the nanny, allows it to be much simpler for you to introduce them to possibly anxious young ones.

Discuss the New Nanny as a Family

Just like adults prefer to be informed on any new individual we’re about to spend time with, so do kids. Prior to the first arranged sitting, chat about the nanny with your child(ren). Give their name, description, what they are like, and other small things you’ve come to know about them. Then take some time chatting about activities they may love to do together.

Staying Safe

By this time, your family should have talked about Covid-19 and revised and improved hygiene routines to ensure that each person in the home is safe and in good health. Go over these practices with your household as well as any other practices that are particular to the new nanny. This will ensure that every person is in accord and tranquil to any fears that may be present. Ensure that the nanny is aware of these practices before arriving on their first day.

When the Nanny Arrives

Introduce Them to the Children, Home, and Hygiene Practices

On the first schedule siting, make time to officially familiarize them with the children and show them around the house. You can even have the children assist with this task, as a way to break the ice.

You’ve perhaps established a procedure for you and your family to sterilize yourself and belongings each time you enter the home after being in public. Contemplate how this will work for your nanny each time they enter the home. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

· organize a station at the front door with sanitizing wipes, spray, and hand sanitizer.

· make mandatory that everyone that enters or re-enters the home wash their hands with soap

and water for a minimum of 20 seconds before doing anything else.

· make available disinfectant wipes to the nanny to disinfect all cellular devices.

· make mandatory that all shoes and purses remain at the front door is probably a great idea.

These are frequently touched.
